There are lots of good reasons to get your pet fixed at an early age.

Here are just a few:

  • A female dog or cat spayed before sexual maturity has one-seventh the risk of developing breast cancer as an intact female. The risk of ovarian and uterine cancer is eliminated by early spring.
  • Neutering a male dog or cat before sexual maturity prevents testicular cancer, prostate disease and hernias.
  • Early spaying insures that your pet won’t contribute to the pet overpopulation problem with an “oops” litter which happens when females go into heat early.
  • Sterilized pets tend to live an average of two to three years longer than unsterilized pets.
  • Behaviors associated with unsterilized pets, such as aggression and the desire to roam are prevented before they become bad habits. Pets that don’t roam and fight are less likely to:
    • contract a contagious disease
    • be injured in a fight
    • get hit by a car
